Figurine Féminine - Giclée Fine Art Print
When I was a kid, I was fascinated with ancient Egypt. I wanted to be an archaeologist and dig out “treasures.” This dream never happened, but my fascination for ancient Egyptian art never stopped. The muse for this illustration is the “figurine féminine” (female figure), a sculpture of a woman found in Thebes, made during the Egyptian Middle Kingdom (2035 - 1680 BC), which I reimagined as an artifact of a modern woman. The original sculpture is held by the Department of Egyptian Antiquities of the Louvre Museum in Paris.
